Transitioning into womanhood can be exciting for a teenager and hair raising for a parent. As girls grow and begin to discover the beauty they posses and the availability of relationships, parents can sometime grow weary, maybe even a bit resistant of letting go.
The only way we can be assured that our daughters know how to handle the men that come into their lives is if we empower them with the knowledge they need to create love and happiness for themselves.
Be sure to teach them:
Hitting isn't cool, for the girl or the guy. Today's violent culture teaches women to strike out when they are angry, and later they have to deal with the inablitity to control their emotions. Teach them respect begins with them. If a male doesn't respect them tell them to check their whereabouts, their crew, their behavior and their thought processes. This is a lesson all girls could stand to learn.
Lastly, teach them when someone shows them who he is, believe him. Even if they do desire a person to love them and treat them great, if it doesn't begin that way, the likelihood of him changing is zero to none.
There are other wonderful lessons we must pass on at the horizon of their maturation, but teaching them unhealthy signs in a relationship will help them better select the boys, boys, boys, she will spend her time with. Stay POLISHED!
